About Us

Hidden Trail Resort boasts a rich history, established over 80 years ago by a family from Manitoba, starting with just a few lakefront cabins at the stunning Black Sturgeon Lake. The camp has changed hands multiple times, with each owner making their mark, yet the warm, friendly, and hospitable environment remains alive and well today! The resort continues to offer affordable cabin rentals right by the lake, and it now features 20 seasonal trailer sites. Many of our campers have been returning for decades, making this their cherished home away from home! We proudly became the owners of this camp in 2016, after spending summers here since 2001 with our two young boys. Those boys are now married with children, and they are bringing their little ones out to enjoy the lake and everything Black Sturgeon Lake has to offer.

For our guests, we offer cozy lakefront cabins, including a charming little “boathouse” with tables and chairs surrounded by windows that provide a stunning view of Black Sturgeon Lake. This space is filled with plenty of books to read, games to play, and is perfect for gatherings. Feel free to bring a few good books for our little library, and you're welcome to take a few home! Laundry facilities are also available. From the dock, we have two excellent swimming ladders, one specifically designed to help seniors get back out of the water easily. The water here at Black Sturgeon Lake is beautifully clear, making a swim or float the ideal activity on a hot day. Alongside the boathouse, you'll find a deck with loungers where you can stretch out, soak up the sun, read a book, or enjoy a catnap after a morning of fishing! Additionally, we have a fully stocked fish-cleaning house equipped with running water, packaging paper, filleting knives, and more, all of which enhance your experience at our affordable cabin rentals.

Arguably, Black Sturgeon Lake offers some of the best fishing in the area! Whether you enjoy the challenge of bass fishing or prefer the tasty walleye, there is a wide variety of species and plenty of great fishing opportunities. Additionally, the open waters provide ample space for wakeboarding, tubing, and waterskiing, or you can simply cruise around the lake for sightseeing. Just a few minutes by car or boat, you’ll find affordable cabin rentals, including beautiful lakefront cabins, near Beauty Bay Golf Course, which features an 18-hole stunning golf course! Downtown Kenora is only a short drive away (15 to 20 minutes), where you can discover many unique shops, along with essential conveniences like grocery stores, pharmacies, and bait shops.
